About Us
Our mission is to serve our patients, our colleagues, and the community by providing superior quality, comprehensive neurological care, advanced clinical research, and education to maximize each patient’s quality of life. The practice was started in 1966 by Dr. Albert D. Wagman, who partnered with Dr. B. Franklin Diamond to create Abington Neurological Associates (ANA), the Abington Stroke Center, and the Sleep Disorders Center. Since those early days, Abington Neurological Associates has grown into one of the largest private neurology practices in Montgomery and Bucks County. We are proud of our reputation for providing the highest quality comprehensive neurological care spanning over 50 years.
All ANA physicians have completed additional education through fellowships in order to provide every patient a level of subspecialized care beyond typical neurology training. As a result, ANA physicians are proud to serve as regional leaders in seizure disorders, stroke, dementia and other memory disorders, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, neuromuscular medicine, balance disorders, concussion, headache and sleep medicine. ANA physicians work together to ensure the practice’s collective knowledge used for each patient’s evaluation and management is individual and second to none.
ANA Physicians have also been recognized for quality and leadership, as noted in “Best Doctors” in Philadelphia magazine as well as the Delaware Valley Stroke Council. ANA physicians serve as key opinion leaders regionally and nationally and educate patients and other physicians through community outreach, physician meetings, and regional and national conferences regarding current best practices in neurological care. Our physicians also meet with and advise legislators in the practice of medicine. They are active in advancing the care of our patients through participation in clinical trials where patients may have access to treatments not yet available to the public.
