Dr. Kandan Kulandaivel earned his medical degree from the prestigious Madras Medical College of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University in South India. He completed his Internship and Neurology residency at Hahnemann Hospital affiliated with Drexel University College of Medicine.

During his residency training, he received multiple awards for his research projects. He also completed a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He then practiced clinical epilepsy in Maine before joining us. He is experienced with video EEG, ICU and intraoperative monitoring.

He is board certified in Neurology, and also certified by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology in advanced central clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy monitoring. He is ABPN board certified in Epilepsy.

Dr. Kulandaivel was recognized as a Top Doctor Under 40 by the Pennsylvania Medical Society in 2017.

Electroencephalography, or EEG, monitors the brain’s electrical activity through the skull to help diagnose epilepsy and other disorders that affect the brain’s activity.
